This is the first article and interview i've read about J. Cole
idk... i haven't really listened to too much music yet.. but when reading the interview I felt like he's a little to "ordinary". Nothing makes him stand out to me... There's no story, no hype, no buzz, no nothing... He's a dude who moved to NY from NC, went to college in NY.. rapped and made beats... and then landed a crazy 360 deal with rocnation out of NOWHERE. There has got to be a big piece that im missing. You don't just get random texts to go have meetings with Jay-Z by working a little job and recording in your shitty apartment..(i assume shitty because he lived in NY and made 10$/hour) or maybe you do?
Freddie co-signed his music a while back... so maybe he is good enough to get calls to go meet Hov.. he's got a mixtape coming out called "The Warm Up".. I will definitely be stealing it
